The Sunnybrook Dive Team FAQs:

1.Who are our coaches?

We are excited to welcome Kyle Bianchini as our head coach. Kyle just completed his collegiate diving career at Rowan University and his coaching experience includes the TNT Dive Program at Rowan, Assistant Coach for the Erlton Gators and worked with various high school teams.
Returning as our Assistant Coach is Kathryn Sutcliffe. She has been diving since the age of 9 and with the Makos for over 4 years. She has dove with competitive teams including Centennial and The Blue Dolphins and is a past South Jersey Junior Olympic Dive Champion. As one of our own, Kathryn knows the Sunnybrook philosophy of hard work, proper technique building and above all - FUN!

2. How often do we practice?

We begin Tuesday, May 28st with practices after school through June 19th. Morning practices will begin on June 17th. Practice is approximately 1 hour staggered by age group.

3. Who can join the dive team?

Any member, age 6 - 18, can join the team. Novice divers are welcome.

4. Instruction

Proper technique is emphasized.

5.How long is the season?

The season begins with registration on May 31st and goes through the end of July.

6. When are the meets and how many meets are there?

Dive meets are held on Sundays. There are 3 qualifying meets per season. If a diver qualifies (receives a specific cumulative score), the South Jersey championships are at the end of July.

7. Can I both dive and swim?

YES. Dive meets are on Sundays so they do not interfere with any swim meets. Also, our practices are flexible - you can dive around your swim practice time.

8. Who do I contact and how do I register?

9. What is the cost to join the dive team?

The cost is: $75 plus AAU membership ($14). Forms are available online (see above links) and at registration. AAU registration is done directly through AAU @ www.aausports.org (see above link for instructions or contact Larry)

10. Do I need to buy a team suit?

No. The dive team does not require you to wear a specific team suit. However, all team members are welcome to purchase the swim team uniform. The Sunnybrook team suit is available at Danzeisen & Quigley (D&Q) and will be available for purchase at Sunnybrook on June 24th.
